On behalf of CREC, Vice President of CREC Ren Hongpeng held a video meeting on February 5 with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan who was invited to Beijing for the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on major projects they are jointly working on.
Imran Khan expressed gratitude for CREC’s support and assistance to Pakistan for its economic and social development. He said that CREC is an important partner of Pakistan and has made great contributions to infrastructure development in the country by constructing a series of major projects including the Multan metro bus line, the M-4 expressway, the Bus Rapid Transit Red Line and Green Line in Karachi, New Islamabad Airport Metro Bus line and the New Gwadar International Airport. He hoped that CREC will continue giving full play to its expertise, expanding investment and construction in major areas in Pakistan and fostering more practical cooperation results. The Pakistani government will give full support to CREC in growing business in Pakistan, he added.
Ren extended welcome to Imran Khan and the Pakistani government delegation to Beijing for the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. He said CREC will continue implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and faithfully put the important consensuses reached by state leaders of both countries into action. With building the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as the central task, CREC will give full play to its extensive experience and brand strength in carrying out large-scale infrastructure projects, Ren said. The company will invest in more areas including real estate, railway, roads, ports and energy in Pakistan and contribute to economic and social development of the country, he added.
