On November 20, the first steel box girder of Lvzhi River Bridge on Yuxi-Chuxiong Expressway was successfully erected, a project invested and managed by China Railway Development Investment Group, undertaken by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group and participated by China Railway Jiujiang Bridge Engineering under China Railway Hi-tech Industry Co., Ltd. This marks that the superstructure construction of the bridge entered the final stage.
The Lvzhi River Bridge, located at the junction of Yimen County and Shuangbai County, Chuxiong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, has a total length of 798 meters and a two-way four-lane bridge deck with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Both sides of the bridge are directly connected to the tunnel. The main-span steel box girder of the bridge consists of 61 segments, with a total weight of about 11,200 tons and a maximum lifting weight of 227.7 tons, all welded structure. China Railway Jiujiang Bridge Engineering is mainly responsible for the manufacturing of the steel box beam slab unit for the main bridge, as well as the on-site assembly, welding, coating, transport and other processes.
After completion, the bridge will set three world records: the world’s first single-tower and single-span steel box girder suspension bridge, the world’s largest single-tower and single-span suspension bridge (with a main span of 780 meters), and the suspension bridge with the world’s largest inclination angle of tunnel anchors (54 degrees).
